Sonangol has announced that it is taking actions to stabilize the fuel distribution market in a statement sent to the newsrooms on Thursday, following reports of supply difficulties in the southern region of the country.

Actions are currently underway to gradually stabilize the market and return to normal global service conditions in the coming days, the statement reads, in which Sonangol Distribuição e Comercialização declares its decision to restore the situation with the “complete stabilization of fuel supply to the southern region of the country.
A source contacted by the Jornal de Angola later stated that ships docked in the Port of Namibe in Moçâmedes on Wednesday, initiating logistical transport operations to the Huíla and Cunene provinces, where it was expected that the situation would be resolved either yesterday or today at the latest.
The same occurred in Benguela after a ship with supplies for Benguela and the provinces of Huambo and Bié docked at the Port of Lobito.
The source indicated that the difficulties arose due to delays in the docking of ships with imported fuels, attributed to poor navigational conditions along the Angolan coast that, in September, affected supply planning. The company resorted to its reserves to ensure somewhat regular supply flows, which will be resolved in the southern region with the completion of docking, transshipment, and transport operations for the supplies.
