Angola Oil and Gas 2025 to Break Records with Presidential Opening and Global Energy CEOs
President João Lourenço will officially open the 6th edition of Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) 2025, scheduled to take place on September 3rd and 4th in Luanda.
This year’s conference marks a milestone, coinciding with Angola’s 50th anniversary of independence, and is set to be the largest and most internationally attended edition since the event’s inception.
According to a press release from Energy Capital & Power, the event organizer, 78 companies will exhibit at AOG 2025—a 20% increase over last year and the highest number in the history of the conference.
This growth signals rising interest in Angola’s energy sector from both local and international stakeholders.
“The confirmed presence of the President of the Republic at the opening ceremony reinforces the event’s national importance,” the statement emphasized.
This year also marks the first-time participation of global energy leaders, including the CEOs of BP and Eni, further underscoring the event’s increasing international stature.
Media outlets such as CNBC, and journalists from Namibia and South Africa will also be covering the event, highlighting its continental relevance.
The conference program has been expanded to include:
More technical sessions
Panel discussions featuring industry leaders
Enhanced networking opportunities
Promotional pricing to ensure broader public participation
Key moments will include the opening and closing ceremonies, tributes to historical figures in Angola’s energy sector, and strategic announcements from major industry players.
“This year is very special. The conference is part of Angola’s national independence celebrations, giving it strong symbolic meaning.
We will honor the past while focusing on the future of the sector,” said Luis Conde, Director of the Conference.
Conde also credited the event’s continued success to collaboration between the Angolan government, private companies, and international partners.
“The Angola Oil & Gas Conference has become a benchmark across the African continent. It presents Angola as a modern, stable, and investment-friendly destination,” he added.
AOG 2025 promises to be a pivotal gathering, spotlighting Angola’s evolving role in the global energy landscape and its commitment to sustainable and inclusive sector growth.
