Namibia’s TaTe Diamonds expands into U.S. market with Atlanta showroom

TaTe Diamonds, Namibia’s first fully Namibian-owned diamond company, has officially entered the United States market with the grand opening of its flagship showroom in Atlanta, Georgia.

Located in Buckhead, Atlanta’s premier luxury district, the showroom marks a significant milestone in the company’s international expansion and brand visibility.

The launch event drew distinguished Namibian and international guests, with Brent Eiseb, CEO of the Namibian Diamond Trading Company (NDTC), presiding over the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Namibian delegation included prominent figures such as Dr. Benethelin Zaaruka and Oscar Capelao (NDTC Directors), Willy Mertens (CEO of Debmarine), Ndeulipula Hamutumwa (Deputy Chairperson of Debmarine), Alex Gawanab and Titus Ndove (Namdeb Directors), and Tumisang Mohubu of Access Bank.

TaTe Diamonds’ founder and CEO, Tangeni taShi Shiimi-Ya-Shiimi, emphasized the company’s commitment to ethical sourcing and transparency, highlighting a streamlined diamond supply process that differentiates it from global industry norms.

“While the traditional diamond supply chain includes up to 15 touchpoints, our process involves just three key stages before reaching the consumer,” he explained.

“Our diamonds are sustainably recovered from Namibia’s ocean by Debmarine or mined on land by Namdeb, traded through NDTC, cut and polished at our Windhoek facility, and certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The final destination is our Atlanta showroom.”

Shiimi-Ya-Shiimi stressed that the company’s core values center on provenance, traceability, and authenticity.

“Each piece captures the spirit of Namibia, crafted with transparency and care to reflect our country’s rich identity,” he said.

The Atlanta showroom will feature TaTe Diamonds’ entire range, including the newly launched EZIMO Collection. Inspired by the Oshiwambo word Ezimo—meaning “My People. My Clan. My Family.

Our Collective.”—the collection pays homage to Namibian cultural heritage and shared identity.

“Our mission is more than creating beautiful jewelry,” said Shiimi-Ya-Shiimi. “It’s about telling powerful stories of ethical sourcing, artisanal craftsmanship, and national pride. We want every diamond to represent Namibia on the global luxury stage.”

TaTe Diamonds aims to expand its global presence while championing the value and integrity of Namibian diamonds worldwide.
