Hari Krishna Exports, one of the world’s leading companies in high-quality rough diamond cutting and jewelry manufacturing, has expressed strong interest in investing in Angola.
The company plans to establish two diamond cutting factories in the Saurimo Diamond Development Hub, located in the province of Lunda Sul.
A delegation from Hari Krishna Exports, led by Dharmesh Dholakia, is currently visiting Angola and has been received by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, as well as by national diamond agencies Sodiam and Endiama.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, the visit aims to assess the investment environment and finalize plans for the installation of two cutting facilities at the Saurimo hub, with the first expected to launch later this year.
On Wednesday, the delegation toured the hub’s infrastructure, including operational and under-construction factories, hybrid energy sources, worker accommodation, and the Diamond Assessment and Cutting Training Centre (CEFOLAD).
The visitors were reportedly impressed by “the remarkable infrastructure already in place” and praised “the quality of training provided to local technicians, as well as the administrative support available for investing in diamond cutting operations.”
The Saurimo Diamond Development Hub was inaugurated in 2021 by President João Lourenço. Spanning over 305,000 square meters, the hub is designed to attract and consolidate companies operating in the diamond sector, particularly those focused on cutting and polishing, offering modern infrastructure tailored to investors’ needs.
Hari Krishna Exports employs more than 8,000 workers across its cutting operations and maintains a strong global footprint, with offices in major diamond markets including Dubai, New York, Hong Kong, and Antwerp. The company is headquartered in Surat, India.
