Dubai Diamond Exchange and London Diamond Bourse Forge Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Global Diamond Trading
The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the international business district that facilitates global trade through Dubai, has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the London Diamond Bourse (LDB) to strengthen cooperation between the two trading centres and expand opportunities for their members.
The agreement establishes a framework for closer collaboration, with a focus on promoting responsible diamond trading, creating new commercial opportunities, encouraging knowledge sharing and strengthening relationships between members of both exchanges.
The partnership will also facilitate dialogue on key issues affecting the international diamond and coloured gemstone industries, enabling both organisations to respond more effectively to the rapidly evolving global marketplace.
The MoU reflects a broader industry trend towards greater collaboration among international trading hubs.
It also reinforces ties between members of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), supporting a more integrated and resilient global diamond trading network.
The agreement was signed by DDE chairperson Ahmed Bin Sulayem and LDB president Charlotte Rose.
“The DDE was built on the belief that connecting markets creates opportunity. This partnership with the LDB reflects that philosophy by bringing together two leading diamond trading centres to strengthen collaboration and create greater opportunities for our respective members,” said Bin Sulayem.
“The future of our industry will not be built by individual markets acting alone. By working more closely together, we can create a stronger network of trusted trading centres, share expertise, uphold recognised industry standards and reinforce confidence and sustainable growth across the global diamond trade.”
Rose welcomed the agreement, describing it as an important milestone for both organisations.
“There is no better partner for the LDB to begin this new chapter with than the DDE. As a fellow member of the WFDB, the DDE shares our commitment to trusted, well-governed trading, and this agreement creates meaningful opportunities for members on both sides. I look forward to seeing this partnership develop.”
Established in 2004, the Dubai Diamond Exchange is the only diamond bourse in the Gulf Cooperation Council affiliated with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, reinforcing Dubai’s position as one of the world’s leading centres for the international diamond trade.
