Aton Resources Reports Promising High-Grade Results from Abu Marawat Drilling in Egypt

TSX-V-listed Aton Resources has announced the first results from its diamond drilling program at the Abu Marawat deposit in Egypt, highlighting high-grade mineral findings, including 8.98 g/t gold, 185 g/t silver, 0.43% copper, and 6.12% zinc over a 3.9-meter interval.

To date, the company has drilled 35 diamond drill holes at Abu Marawat, totaling 3,381 meters. All holes have been drilled horizontally or at shallow angles to target previously untested, near-surface mineralization in a challenging mountainous terrain where conventional rigs struggle to access.

Significant results from the first 14 holes, AMD-101 to AMD-114, have shown encouraging polymetallic intersections. Key findings include:

  • Hole AMD-110: 8.98 g/t gold, 185 g/t silver, 11.16 g/t gold equivalent, 0.43% copper, 0.23% lead, and 6.12% zinc over 3.9 meters at a downhole depth of 82.1 meters.
  • Hole AMD-107: 9.57 g/t gold, 92.9 g/t silver, 10.66 g/t gold equivalent, and 0.52% copper over a 3.9-meter interval from 24.2 meters downhole.
  • Hole AMD-111: 6.24 g/t gold, 203 g/t silver, 8.63 g/t gold equivalent, 0.30% copper, 0.10% lead, and 4.81% zinc over a 2.6-meter interval at a depth of 97.2 meters.
  • Hole AMD-112: 3.15 g/t gold, 172 g/t silver, 5.17 g/t gold equivalent, 0.50% copper, 0.23% lead, and 4.69% zinc over a 3.15-meter interval from 82.5 meters downhole.

“We’re very encouraged by these initial results from our new drilling program, marking Aton’s first drilling activity at Abu Marawat since 2011,” commented CEO Tonno Vahk. “This program targets areas of previously undrilled mineralization outside or along the southern boundaries of the 2012 maiden resource.

Our goal is to upgrade Abu Marawat’s mineral resources to an indicated category, supporting our broader vision of bringing these areas into the exploitation lease and developing multiple gold mining operations at the concession, including the Hamama West, Rodruin, and Semna deposits.”

In partnership with the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority, Aton Resources continues to advance the initial development of the Hamama West mine, marking another step toward the broader exploitation of Egypt’s mineral resources.
