Angola-EU Business Forum 2026 Focuses on Mobilizing Investment for Lobito Corridor Infrastructure, Trade, and Energy Growth
The 3rd Angola–European Union (EU) Business Forum opened on Tuesday in Luanda, with a strong focus on attracting European investment to accelerate the development of the Lobito Corridor across key sectors including agribusiness, transport, logistics, and energy.
Held under the theme “From Dialogue to Concrete Investment,” the forum forms part of broader efforts to strengthen economic cooperation and advance the operationalization of the Lobito Corridor.
The event has brought together around 900 participants, including government officials, international investors, companies from Angola and neighboring countries, as well as representatives of the European Union.
European participation is notably strong, with companies from Germany, Belgium, France, and Portugal among the key delegations attending.
The 2026 edition of the Angola–EU Lobito Corridor Business Forum serves as a strategic platform aimed at accelerating development in agriculture, agro-industry, transport, and logistics along one of Africa’s most significant trade routes.
A central objective of this year’s forum is to shift from policy dialogue to the implementation of concrete investment projects, while enhancing the mobilization of financing to support long-term, high-impact infrastructure and economic initiatives along the corridor.
The forum also seeks to promote sustainable value chains, regional integration, and responsible investment, aligned with Angola–EU cooperation priorities and the broader Global Gateway strategy.
Over two days, discussions will cover a range of key topics, including the Lobito Corridor Master Plan under the Global Gateway framework, trade and investment opportunities, agricultural production and processing, and transport and logistics systems.
Additional panels will address the blue economy and coastal development opportunities, the role of banks and development finance institutions, as well as agricultural and agro-industrial supply chains and markets.
The programme also includes presentations and interactive sessions led by Angolan government ministries on ongoing Lobito Corridor projects.
