Angola Extends Bid Deadline for Namibe Corridor Concession

Angola Extends Namibe Corridor Tender Deadline to June 4 to Boost Competition and Proposal Quality

Angola’s Ministry of Transport has extended the deadline for submitting proposals for the concession to operate, manage, and maintain the Namibe Corridor, moving it from May 4 to June 4.

According to a government statement, the decision follows requests from bidders who said the original deadline did not provide sufficient time to prepare comprehensive and well-structured proposals, given the scale and complexity of the project.

The ministry said the extension is intended to ensure higher-quality technical and financial submissions while encouraging broader and more competitive participation in the tender process.

Officials added that the move reinforces the government’s commitment to transparency, fair competition, and adherence to international best practices in public procurement.

The Namibe Corridor is considered a key infrastructure project for Angola’s logistics and economic development, with the potential to enhance trade flows and strengthen regional integration.
