Central African Republic Inaugurates 50 MW Solar Plant with Battery Storage to Boost Electricity Supply The Central African Republic (CAR) has inaugurated a 50 MW solar photovoltaic plant with 15 MWh of battery storage at Sakaï, southwest of the capital Bangui, marking a major step in the country’s efforts to expand electricity generation and improve grid reliability. Developed by UAE-based Global South Utilities (GSU), the facility features more than 80,000 solar panels and 156 inverters.
