Yesterday in Luanda, Mankenda Ambroise, a consultant to the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas (MIREMPET), delivered key insights at the 3rd Mining Business Forum in Angola, themed “Innovation and Sustainability: Towards Industry Transformation Minas Gerais.”
The forum, scheduled to conclude today, serves as a platform to address challenges and opportunities in Angola’s mining sector.
Ambroise, speaking on behalf of Minister Diamantino Azevedo, highlighted the ongoing efforts to diversify mineral production in Angola and enhance the value of its abundant mineral resources.
Emphasizing the importance of good governance practices, Ambroise presented statistics revealing a catalog of various projects across different mineral sectors.
According to Ambroise, the Ministry has identified 102 projects related to ornamental rocks, 78 for diamonds, 27 for marble, and several others covering gold, quartz, clay, gypsum, and iron ore. He commended the organization of the forum, noting its potential to attract new investments to Angola.
Ambroise also lauded the participation of renowned companies like Rio Tinto, De Beers, Anglo American, and Ivanhoe Mines, viewing their presence as a testament to Angola’s progress in governance within the mining sector.
This, he believes, signifies a new era characterized by enhanced governance models and promising opportunities for Angola’s mining industry.
