Angola Records Strong Oil Exports in 2025 Despite Falling Prices

Angola Exports 357 Million Barrels of Oil in 2025, Generating $24 Billion in Revenue

Angola exported 93.94 million barrels of oil in the fourth quarter of 2025, reinforcing its status as a strategic global supplier.

For the full year, total oil exports reached 357.10 million barrels, generating approximately $24 billion in revenue, according to the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas.

The data was presented by the Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, José Barroso, during the opening of an event reviewing the performance of Angola’s oil industry in the fourth quarter of 2025 and outlining prospects for the first 90 days of 2026.

Barroso noted that Angolan crude traded at an average price of $68.4 per barrel in 2025, representing a 14.2 percent decline compared to 2024.

He attributed the drop in international prices to factors such as the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, expectations of peace between Russia and Ukraine, rising global stockpiles, China’s economic slowdown, weaker Asian demand, increased floating storage in Asia, higher US production, and concerns over global oversupply.

The volume of oil exported in the fourth quarter increased by 2.8 percent compared to the third quarter but fell by 5.5 percent year-on-year.

China, India, and Indonesia were the primary destinations for Angolan oil last year, accounting for 58.6 percent, 11 percent, and 8.3 percent of total exports, respectively.

Regarding natural gas, Angola exported 5.8 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2025, primarily to Europe, generating around $3.2 billion in revenue.
