Pinnacle Oil Refutes Dangote Refinery’s Allegations of Substandard Fuel

Pinnacle Oil and Gas Limited has issued a firm response to Dangote Refinery’s recent accusations regarding substandard fuel blending, strongly denying any involvement in the production or distribution of low-quality fuel.

The statement follows Dangote Refinery’s claims that a petroleum depot opened near its facility was raising concerns about the quality of fuel on the market.

These claims from Dangote came amid allegations from petroleum marketers that the refinery was selling petrol above the import price.

A previous report by Business Insider Africa highlighted Dangote’s concerns about an influx of substandard products into Nigeria.

Dangote also criticized the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), suggesting the regulator lacks the necessary facilities to conduct adequate quality checks on imported fuel products.

In its official statement, Pinnacle Oil refuted these allegations, affirming its commitment to delivering high-quality products and operating in full compliance with regulatory standards.

“Pinnacle Oil & Gas has the only depot facility next to the Dangote Refinery. Without equivocation, we state that Pinnacle Oil & Gas would never engage or attempt to import or distribute any off-spec or substandard product into the Nigerian market,” the company asserted.

Pinnacle Oil emphasized that it supports a competitive, deregulated oil market with multiple buyers and sellers.

The company advocates for giving Nigerians more options in fuel supply, whether imported or locally refined, to ensure that competitive pricing benefits consumers in the long term.
