The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) has successfully resumed gas delivery at Tema’s Regulating and Metering Station following a temporary shutdown due to a system glitch.
According to a press statement released on Saturday, March 23, the Tema facility experienced a complete shutdown around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, resulting in electricity disruptions in areas such as Tema, Lapaz, Weija, Mallam, Kasoa Barrier, and others.
After working diligently throughout the night, engineers managed to restore power, and gas delivery to customers in Tema resumed around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Dr. Isaac Adjei Doku, the General Manager of Corporate Affairs at WAPCo, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing safe and reliable services.
He also assured that investigations into the root cause of the problem were underway to prevent similar incidents in the future.
WAPCo expressed gratitude to its stakeholders for their patience during the repair process and extended apologies for any inconvenience caused, especially to customers in Tema who rely on WAGP gas for power generation.
