Vivo Energy Expands Network with New Engen N1 Service Station in Marracuene

Vivo Energy Mozambique, the representative of the Engen brand and exclusive distributor of Shell lubricants, has inaugurated a new Engen N1 service station in Mumemo, Marracuene.

This station opening is part of a strategic partnership with Camel Oil, a fuel and lubricants distribution company.

Through this collaboration, which involves 12 stations in the Maputo province, Vivo Energy Mozambique will increase its network to 58 operational stations nationwide, strengthening its market presence.

João Oliveira e Sousa, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Mozambique, highlighted the broader goals of the partnership: “This collaboration with Camel Oil goes beyond network expansion; it reflects our commitment to staying close to our customers, offering excellent services, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the communities where we operate.”

The new Engen N1 station offers fuel, a car wash, an oil change center, and a convenience store, further enhancing local trade and supporting the regional economy.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by local officials, including Maghivelani Simão, Councillor for Economic Activities, representing the President of the Marracuene Town Council, Shafee Sidat.

Other notable attendees included Eurico Mavie, representative of the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, Camel Oil’s Country Manager Zuber Aleem, and Joaquim Jibambo, Retail Director of Vivo Energy Mozambique, alongside the company’s management team.

Oliveira e Sousa also noted that of the 12 stations in the partnership, five are already operational, with three more under construction or refurbishment, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024. The remaining four stations are expected to be operational by early 2025.

Since entering the Mozambican market in 2019 after acquiring Engen, Vivo Energy Mozambique has grown significantly, expanding from 19 to 58 stations.

This growth reflects the company’s commitment to accessibility, quality, and innovation in service delivery.

Vivo Energy Mozambique employs over 1,800 people across the country, demonstrating its dedication to creating job opportunities and supporting local communities.
