TotalEnergies launches solar plant in Huíla

The French company TotalEnergies signed, this Thursday, with Sonagás and Greentech a contract for the installation and operation of a photovoltaic solar plant with an installed capacity of 35 megawatts (MW), in the city of Lubango, province of Huíla…

The Quilemba plant should have an additional 45 MW in a second phase. The construction of the plant should start in 2023, its entry into operation is scheduled for 2024 and the unit’s concession lasts for 25 years. The Quilemba project will be carried out in the “independent energy producer” model, where the entire investment, not disclosed in the company’s statement, is ensured by the project promoters (TotalEnergies Angola 51%, Sonagás, a subsidiary of Sonangol, 30% and Greentech 19%).
