Sonangol begins its participation in this year’s African Energy Week (AEW) today, where it is presenting a communication dedicated to the company’s actions in the areas of optimizing the business model after the regeneration process and the energy transition.
In a statement sent to the Jornal de Angola on Sunday, Sonangol stated that at the event, which runs until Friday, it is represented by a delegation led by Executive Administrator Osvaldo Inácio. This delegation includes the presidents of the executive committees of the Exploration and Production, Gas and Renewable Energies business units, as well as the Research and Development Center, namely Ricardo Van-Deste, Manuel Barros, and Vladimir Machado, respectively.
According to the document, the Angolan representation is participating in panel discussions on issues related to the sector and is giving technical presentations to showcase the actions the company has taken in areas that encompass modern concepts of the hydrocarbon industry.
The statement asserts that this year’s event, the third in which Sonangol has participated, continues to be designed to support “the continent’s efforts to reduce energy poverty by 2030, facilitating investment in numerous business opportunities throughout the energy value chain, both in conventional fossil fuels and cleaner sources, providing a global collaboration platform between the industry, governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders.”
Last year, when Sonangol’s representation at AEW was also led by Osvaldo Inácio, Belarmino Chitangueleca, the administrator of the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas, and Biofuels, defined Angola’s hydrocarbon market during a roundtable discussion, highlighting the country’s availability of mature assets, stable political environment, and the participation of numerous experienced companies in the market.
