Somiluana Mining Company to Inaugurate New Sorting Plant

The Somiluana Mining Company, located in Lunda-Norte province, is set to inaugurate its new Sorting Plant (CRP) this month, with a capacity of 6 tons of cubic meters.

Guilherme Raimundo, the deputy general director of the mining company, announced that this new facility could significantly boost diamond production at the secondary deposit by approximately 12,000 carats per month, leading to the creation of over 700 jobs.

The inauguration ceremony marks the commencement of large-scale production and coincides with the Technical-Scientific Conference on Mining Workers’ Day, scheduled from April 15 to 27, under the theme “The Revolution and Prospects for Mining Activity in Angola”.

The Mining Workers’ Days will feature various events, including the inauguration of the Cácata Phosphate Exploration Project in Cabinda province, the “Catoca Journalism Award” Gala, and a seminar on “Mineral Resources and the Gold Value Chain in Angola”.

Somiluana Mining Company is jointly owned by Somiluana (33%) and ENDIAMA (67%).
