Aim-listed gold producer Shanta Gold has announced promising findings in its latest exploration update for the West Kenya project, covering the fourth quarter of last year and the first quarter of this year.
CEO Eric Zurrin highlighted the progress, stating, “At Ramula, the reported assays provide valuable insights for converting inferred resources to indicated category resources.
Meanwhile, encouraging results from our early-mid-stage targets at both Miruka and Anomaly 22 affirm the presence of economic range mineralization, solidifying the continuity of mineralization.”
The ongoing drilling programs aim to upgrade inferred resources to indicated resources at the Ramula deposit, with a mineral resource estimate update scheduled for completion by the end of the second quarter.
Exploration efforts also focused on testing prospective early- to mid-stage targets around the Ramula camp, including Miruka and Anomaly 22.
Results from drilling at Miruka revealed economic range mineralisation, extending over 120 meters in depth and 150 meters laterally, with potential for further expansion.
Similarly, Anomaly 22 showcased continuous mineralisation, indicating significant potential along strike and at depth.
Sterilisation drilling around Ramula continued in the first quarter of this year, covering potential infrastructure placement areas.
RAMULA DEPOSIT
The Ramula deposit, located within a dioritoid stock and its contact zones, exhibits stacked, shallow-dipping quartz tension veins hosting gold mineralisation.
Recent drilling aimed to upgrade ounces from inferred to indicated resource categories, with mineralisation extending northwest and southeast, suggesting underground mineable resources.
MIRUKA
The Miruka target, situated 2 km from Ramula, demonstrated economic mineralisation potential, supported by significant gold intercepts.
Geologically, Miruka comprises intermediate volcanics intruded by porphyries and diorite, hosting gold within fractured quartz-carbonate veinlets or associated with pyrite.
ANOMALY 22
Anomaly 22, located near Ramula, boasts a strong gold-in-soil anomaly extending over 1.5 km, coinciding with pathfinder elements.
Initial drilling revealed economic range mineralisation, emphasizing the presence of a large mineralised system.
Shanta Gold’s exploration endeavors in the West Kenya project underscore its commitment to unlocking the region’s mineral potential, contributing to economic growth and sustainable development.
