The first children’s work of the reading incentive project sponsored by Fundação Brilhante was launched on Monday (05.09.2022) in the courtyard of the Directorate of Studies and Projects in the city of Saurimo, province of Lunda Sul.
Authored by Engrácia Matias and with a circulation of 1,000 copies, the work entitled “A Zebrinha que lost the stripes” is the first of a series of works aimed at children and young people (to be released quarterly for two years) and which will portray aspects related to the history and geography of Angola, culture, habits, uses and customs of the people, as well as the elevation of moral, civic and patriotic values within the scope of a project aimed at encouraging reading carried out by the Association of Journalists to the Production of Children’s Literature sponsored by Fundação Brilhante.
50 children from the 1º de Dezembro and São João Calabria shelters, the provincial director of Social Action Maria Luisa Martins, senior staff from Fundação Brilhante and guests witnessed the launch of the work (free of charge).
In addition to the offer of books, the children were treated to a snack.
