Portugal considered second largest Exporter to Angola in the third quarter of 2023

Angola’s current account balance remained in surplus, standing at US$2.5 billion in the third quarter of 2023, with Portugal being considered the second largest exporter to the country.

According to the Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Report, cited by Lusa, referring to the third quarter of 2023 from the National Bank of Angola, the behavior of the current account was influenced, “essentially, by the increase in the balance of the goods account and the reduction of deficit balances in service accounts, primary and secondary income”.

The document also indicates that the balance of the goods account went from 4.6 billion dollars in the previous quarter to 6.2 billion dollars in the quarter under review.

Export revenues, in the months of July, August and September 2023, increased by 17.3%, reaching 9.8 billion dollars compared to 8.3 billion dollars in the previous quarter, according to the same source.
