Subsea engineering and applied technology company Oceaneering International, through its Offshore Projects Group segment, has been named a consortium partner to support transportation and installation work on the Girassol Life Extension project in Block 17, offshore Angola.
The scope of work will include the provision of air and saturation diving services, project management, engineering and procurement activities and will be done to support the prime contractor’s recovery and replacement of 12 risers.
Oceaneering will also provide Angolan personnel for the project and manage the in-country operations of the consortium.

Larson, adding, “Our success with these projects supports our belief in the resurgence of international offshore activity and market expectations over the next several years.”
Oceaneering has indicated that its services will be implemented in various phases, with the first phase set to commence in late-2023 and continue until late-2025.
Situated approximately 150km off the Angolan coast, Block 17 is operated by energy and petroleum company, TotalEnergies (38%), alongside petroleum refining company, Equinor (22.16%); oil and gas supermajors, ExxonMobil (19%) and BP (15.84%); and Angolan National Oil Company, Sonangol (5).
