Neosun Energy to Build 998 kWp Solar Plant for Dayizenza Mall in South Africa

Neosun Energy has secured a contract to design and build a 998 kWp grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) plant for Dayizenza Mall in Nelspruit, South Africa, furthering its commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions.

“The solar power plant is expected to achieve monthly electricity savings of over 50-60% throughout its operational life, delivering both environmental and financial benefits.

With a lifespan of more than 40 years, the project highlights Dayizenza Mall’s dedication to minimizing its environmental footprint and supporting the shift to clean energy solutions in the commercial sector,” said Jeanine Jackson, Head of Sales at Neosun South Africa.

The project is estimated to cut 25,807 tons of CO2 emissions over its lifetime, reinforcing the mall’s leadership in promoting sustainability in the Nelspruit region.

“This milestone project not only underscores the mall’s commitment to sustainability but also sets an example for other South African businesses, showcasing the financial and environmental benefits of renewable energy solutions,” Jackson added.

Neosun Energy has recently expanded its presence in South Africa with new branches in Cape Town and Johannesburg to better serve local customers.

Solar energy represents a significant cost-saving opportunity for businesses in the region, being the cheapest form of energy generation.

Most solar projects in sunny areas of South Africa have a payback period of less than two years, generating pure profit by the third year, making it a strategic choice for improving profitability and attracting investors.

“Many South African enterprises face operational challenges and financial losses due to limited grid access,” noted Ilya Likhov, CEO of Neosun Energy.

Neosun Energy’s entry into the South African market provides local businesses with an effective solution to the ongoing energy crisis.

By adopting advanced solar technologies, South African companies can significantly reduce electricity costs, increase efficiency, and enhance profitability.
