A new company called (Cimeleste Vungo Indústria, Lda) dedicated to the production and sale of cement will be born in the country, in the region of Cazombo, Moxico province, and is expected to create another 2,000 jobs.
According to a press release sent today to Jorna de Angola Online, the firm is originally from Canada, with an investment estimated at more than US$50 million “and a production capacity of 1,500 tons of cement/day”.
Given its size, the document states, the company intends to position itself in the market as one of the potential cement producers, and should contribute to increasing competition and reducing sales prices.
“Cimeste Vungo will contribute, in this way, to guaranteeing the employability of another 2,300 people, mostly young people, with 800 direct jobs and 1,500 indirect jobs”, reads the statement.
Production by Cimeleste Vungo will aim to supply the market in the east, south and north of the country, in a project that will help to protect the huge demand for the product in those parts.
The implementation of Cimeleste Vungo, concludes the statement, will require several other investments in additional infrastructure, with emphasis on the construction of a Residential Village for workers, a hospital, a mini hydroelectric plant, a water collection center and vocational training schools, as well as as the creation of conditions for the practice of agriculture, farming and construction of access roads.
