The government plans to bring the most renowned global mining operators to Angola at the 2nd International Mining Conference and Exhibition (AMC) announced on Monday in Luanda for November 22 and 23 by the Secretary of State for Mineral Resources.
Janio Corrêa Victor, speaking to the press at the launch of the event taking place in Luanda, considered that “the new governance model for the mining sector has encouraged the government to create the best conditions and make them available to the business sector.”
Four years ago, at the first edition of AMC, the Secretary of State recalled, “We managed to bring several foreign companies to operate in the country,” so “we have plans to attract more internationally renowned investors.”
Jânio Corrêa Victor stated that, under the new Investment Law, the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas has been inviting foreign investors to invest in the mining sector in Angola.
According to the Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, the ministry has been working with commercial banks with the aim of encouraging them to understand the mining sector, break down barriers, and foster direct contacts.
The exhibition is held under the motto “Development of Mineral Resources, Sustainability, and Challenges” and is organized by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in partnership with AME Trade.
Six hundred national and foreign companies participate in the event, where dedicated discussions cover topics such as “Angola’s Vision for Sustainable Development of Mineral Resources,” “Sustainable Financing and Capital Mobilization for Mining Projects,” and “Exploration Perspective Updates.
