Aviation services company, Menzies Aviation, has established a joint venture with Angolan airport management company, Sociedade Gestora de Aeroportos (SGA-SA).
Dubbed Menzies Angola, the joint venture will be responsible for delivering cargo and lounge services at the Luanda International Airport – the main international airport in Angola.
Menzies Angola will serve a number of regional airlines – including Angola’s national carrier, TAAG-Angola Airlines, and Ethiopian Airlines – as well as international carriers including Air France and TAP Air Portugal.
The joint venture will leverage Menzies Aviation’s experience as a service partner and SGA-SA’s expertise in managing airports to improve service delivery at the Luanda International Airport.
In addition to handling over 30,000 tons of cargo annually, Menzies Angola will also be responsible for managing the VIP lounge. Over 45,000 passengers are served at the lounge per annum.
Charles Wyley, EVP Middle East, Africa and Asia at Menzies Aviation, stated that, “We are thrilled to announce our joint venture with SGA, and look forward to providing safe, secure and reliable services to our airline customers in the region.
Angola’s aviation industry is growing with a bright future ahead, which is why now is the opportune time to forge a strategic partnership with SGA.”
