Luanda refinery starts producing 1,580,000 liters of gasoline/day

The Gasoline Production Complex of the Luanda Refinery will start, as of this Thursday, to produce 1,580,000 liters of gasoline/day, as opposed to the current 395,000 liters, which corresponds to a reduction of around 15% in the annual fuel imports in the country.

The new refining unit allocated to Sonangol, expanded with the aim of increasing gasoline production in the country, will be inaugurated by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

The development also has a combined cycle power plant, as well as an electrical cabin that will have the capacity to generate five megavolts amperes (MVA) of energy.

The construction of this project is in line with the objective of increasing Angola’s refining capacity, which is part of the objectives of the National Development Plan 2018 – 2022, being implemented by the Angolan Executive.
