The Ministries of Transport and Planning joined forces to host a seminar last Friday in the city of Huambo, aimed at showcasing the investment potential and opportunities along the Lobito Corridor.
Held at the Manuel Rui Monteiro Cultural Center, the event focused on presenting the Railway Branch Line and Freight Terminal Project of the Caála Logistics Platform.
It brought together local entrepreneurs from various sectors, including agriculture, livestock, transport, and construction.
During the seminar, Adriana Penha, Contract Manager of the Caála Logistics Platform, emphasized that the meeting served as a platform to gather input and contributions that will help drive forward the projects to be implemented along the Lobito Corridor.
She noted that the workshop fostered active participation and discussions around the development of the railway branch and freight terminal, enabling greater public involvement in shaping the project.
Penha also highlighted that business leaders and entrepreneurs from the Central Plateau region were briefed on the overall goals of the Caála Logistics Platform, which is expected to generate significant economic benefits for the province of Huambo.
Describing Huambo as the “breadbasket of Angola,” she stressed the importance of investing in this logistics infrastructure to facilitate the efficient transport and commercialization of goods via the Lobito Corridor.
Farmer Domingos Capitango described the Caála Logistics Platform as a major opportunity to expand his agricultural production, given the anticipated rise in demand for locally produced goods in the near future.
