Kwame Oil & Gas, a company in the oil sector, announced the upcoming launch of two operational bases in Luanda for metal structure repairs and oil tank cleaning, with a total investment of $150,000.
According to Aurélio dos Santos, the company’s general director, the new facilities are located in the Mundo neighborhood of Benfica and are set to begin operations in September.
The project, which was first announced in May, includes the construction of two bases.
The first base, measuring 33 by 20 meters, will provide services such as general painting, metal structure repairs, and pressure testing.
The second base, sized 20 by 30 meters, will serve as a storage facility for equipment and materials, particularly if there is an increase in workload at the first base. It will also have additional space for painting and high-pressure washing of oil tanks.
The expansion will boost the company’s workforce, adding 25 direct jobs to the current team of 21 employees. This growth is expected to contribute to both the company’s revenue and local employment.
Aurélio dos Santos emphasized the importance of local content in the oil and gas industry, noting its significant social and economic benefits.
He also called for more support for small businesses striving to meet international performance standards.
He acknowledged the National Oil and Gas Agency’s (ANPG) efforts to help local companies align with these standards, which have led to better organization within the sector.
Additionally, Kwame Oil & Gas is committed to further expansion, with plans to build three more facilities in the same area by the end of the year, contingent on support from the Belas Administration.
