The diamond market now has a new information portal called “Diamond Impact,” which was launched yesterday with the aim of disseminating social activities carried out by companies in the sector for the benefit of communities. This was launched on Wednesday in Luanda and is managed by the Bumbar Mining Group, a company specializing in industry affairs.
The platform provides digital, print, and multimedia information, showcasing community sustainability projects in diamond mining areas for the benefit of local residents. These projects include initiatives such as schools, hospitals, and activities related to sports and culture.
On a global scale, the portal provides information about the total number of beneficiaries of healthcare services projected by one of the companies, the employment generated by the company in the past and its plans for future job creation, as well as a historical overview of the owning company. Regarding membership or subscription, the portal will have a registration fee of 350,000 kwanzas, which covers services such as copy editing, content editing, assignment of reporting teams to cover social activities or projects, and the provision of consultants who work on rewriting various articles that are subsequently channeled to the “Diamond Impact” portal.
In a press statement, the CEO of Bumbar Mining, SebastiĆ£o Panzo, emphasized that each company on the portal will communicate their social activities, share press releases, and more.
“It will be a space where nearly 25 companies and service providers in the diamond mining sector can communicate about their social actions,” he said, highlighting that the companies will also have the benefit of a dedicated page where they can showcase all the information about their projects or social reports for public knowledge.
Another distinctive feature of this portal, as he informed, will be the publication of a quarterly magazine and an annual award given to projects with the greatest impact that make a difference in communities, which will be selected by a jury.
“With this information, decision-makers, researchers, academics, and the general public who want to learn more about the achievements of the diamond industry for the communities will find it on this portal,” emphasized SebastiĆ£o Panzo.
