Infinity Power, in partnership with Pele Green Energy, has been awarded six solar projects with a combined capacity of 1.28 GW under South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) Seventh Round.
This achievement will triple Infinity Power’s current generation capacity in South Africa, supporting its ambitious goal to deploy 10 GW of renewable energy across Africa by 2030.
Expanding South Africa’s Renewable Energy Landscape
The six solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, with a 51% ownership by Infinity Power and 49% by Pele Green Energy, include:
- Highveld Solar (240 MW) in Mpumalanga.
- Palladium Solar 1 (240 MW) in Limpopo.
- Copper Solar 1 (240 MW) in Limpopo.
- Vanadium Solar 1 (150 MW) in Limpopo.
- Onderstepoort Solar 1 and 2 (220 MW and 190 MW) in North West Province.
Once operational, these projects will make a significant contribution to South Africa’s renewable energy sector, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and advancing the country’s transition to sustainable power solutions.
