The price of gasoline in South Africa will increase in April.
Diesel (diesel), however, will see some reduction.
The department responsible for the measures attributed the adjustments to the increase in average international prices for gasoline products
For this reason, April will be a mixed month for South African motorists in terms of fuel prices, with petrol rising, while the cost of diesel will increase or decrease slightly, depending on whether you live inland or on the coast.
The retail price of gasoline would cost 25.12 rands (1,130.94 kwanzas) in the interior, and 24.33 rands (1,095.38 kwanzas) if you live on the coast.
Diesel will cost 22.60 rands in the interior (1,017.49 kwanzas) and 21.82 rands (982.37 kwanzas) for those who live on the coast.
Recently, the South African Department of Mineral Resources and Energy announced that unleaded gasoline would increase by 65c/l (cents per liter) in the interior and 58c/l on the coast on April 3, as early as Wednesday.
At the same time, 95c/l would increase 67c/l inland and 60c/l on the coast. The wholesale price of diesel with 0.05 per cent sulfur will rise by 3c/l inland, but fall by 4c/l on the coast.
Diesel with 0.005 percent sulfur will see small reductions of 2c/l inland and 9c/l on the coast. Illuminating paraffin will increase by 29c/l in Gauteng and 36c/l on the coast.
Price changes differ across magisterial district zones due to different transport increases implemented in fuel price structures, the Department said.
Annual adjustments to road transport tariffs applicable to gasoline and diesel (diesel) structures vary between 0.3c/l and 14.2c/l.
The basic fuel price differentials between the 95 and 93 gasoline types change quarterly and thus the different price adjustments between the two types.
The Department attributed the adjustments to the increase in average international prices for gasoline products, while diesel products decreased during the period under review. The rand appreciated against the dollar in the previous period.
