The FPSO Agogo vessel, set to operate in the West Integrated Hub of Angola’s Block 15/06, has ordered low-cost centrifugal pumps from the UK-based company Amarinth, which specializes in their production.
Currently under construction by Yinson Production, the FPSO Agogo will be operated by Azule Energy once completed.
The platform is designed to produce up to 120,000 barrels of oil per day, with operations expected to commence in 2025.
According to Offshore Technology, Amarinth will provide the low-cost centrifugal pumps and associated equipment for the vessel.
Oliver Brigginshaw, Amarinth’s managing director, highlighted that this order marks a significant milestone for the company in delivering high-performance solutions for challenging environments, particularly in the FPSO sector.
Amarinth’s pump design is tailored for low NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head) tasks, which are crucial for the confined spaces on FPSO ships.
These pumps are constructed to meet NORSOK M-630 standards, ensuring compliance with stringent material specifications for offshore petrochemical applications.
The FPSO Agogo is part of an integrated development project aimed at producing hydrocarbons from the Agogo and Ndungu fields.
The project plan includes drilling 36 new wells, with 21 designated for production and 15 for injection. Combined with the existing FPSO Ngoma system, the FPSO Agogo is expected to reach a maximum production capacity of 175,000 barrels per day.
