The General Director of Memorial Dr. António Agostinho Neto, António Fonseca urged the Brilhante Foundation to “guide for more actions aimed at culture and the arts, with a view to safeguarding the cultural identity of the communities surrounding the diamond mining areas”. António Fonseca was speaking on the occasion of the launch of the literary work “The cultural thought of Dr. Agostinho Neto” which took place on the 30th of September on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of António Agostinho Neto at the memorial erected in his memory in the capital of the country, Luanda. The work sponsored by Fundação Brilhante reflects the contribution of the social face of the diamond subsector to the celebrations of the centenary of the Founder of the Angolan Nation.
Flávio Francisco, Acting General Director of Fundação Brilhante, said at the time of the presentation of the work, that FB could not be left out of the celebrations of Neto’s centenary “because it is a fundamental milestone in the history of a figure whose actions in favor of the nation must continue to be disseminated, especially the new generations”. The FB Culture and Arts Coordinator Arleth Leandro also attended the ceremony.
