Etu Energias Launches Lubricant Line in Angola

Etu Energias, Angola’s largest private oil company, has inaugurated a lubricant production line in collaboration with Glide Technology, a prominent petroleum product producer in the region.

The partners have established a joint venture company to spearhead the development of a state-of-the-art lubricant production facility in Luanda, the capital of Angola.

With a production capacity of 1,000 tons per month, the facility is set to commence construction in 2025, requiring an investment of $5 million.

Anticipating robust growth, the company aims to capture a substantial 25% market share by 2029.

Lubricant produced at the facility will be exported regionally while supplying Etu Energias networking of fuel stations in the country.

“Today, we are running three petrol stations, and our vision is to [expand] to about 40 petroleum stations in the next four years.

The launch of the new line of lubricants is the beginning of our ambitious downstream sector expansion,” stated Etu Energias Chairman Edson Rodrigues Dos Santos.

Etu Energias Distribution Executive Administrator Pedro Mora added that one of the challenges faced by the Angolan market is the availability of petroleum products, but “once we are producing, we will be able to directly cater to our customers in a more efficient manner.”
