Two Angolan diamond concessions, Moirige and Chifuca, were presented by Endiama at Africa Down and Under (ADU), the main forum for commercial and governmental relations between the continent and Australia.
The conference, which began on Wednesday, with a speech by the President of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi, was attended by a representation from Endiama led by the director of Geology, Rogério Guimarães, who presented the Moirige and Chifuca concessions as “promising” and with “several studies carried out that demonstrate their potential”.
The two mines do not have investors, and it was the mobilization of capital and investment partners that led Endiama to opt for the two concessions as a proposal for its participation in the conference.
On the first day of work, Rogério Guimarães presented the technical details of two mining concessions implemented in Cuanza-Sul and Lunda-Sul, in an intervention supported by the Australian company Lucapa Diamonds, Endiama’s partner in Sociedade Mineira do Lulo .
“The Lulo mine has been a rare source of diamond stones weighing more than 100 carats” and “there is no other mine in the world that compares with its geology,” the Lucapa Diamond representative said at the conference.
At the opening, President Mokgweetsi Masisi recalled that Botswana is a country rich in resources with a credible history of exploration and prudent mineral exploration and that his country’s mining history testifies to the sector’s contribution to socio-economic development, contributing considerably to the volume of exports, budget revenues and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
