The chairman of Endiama’s Board of Directors, José Manuel Ganga Júnior, congratulated Sociedade Mineira de Luachimo (SML) and its collective of workers for yet another year of existence, marked last Friday,10th February.
In a note, on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of Sociedade Mineira de Luachimo, Ganga Júnior praises the efforts undertaken by its Management Board to maintain the mine’s production levels.
The PCA of Empresa Nacional de Diamantes de Angola reiterated, on the other hand, its full availability to continue collaborating with the management of SML to achieve the recommended results and improve the social conditions of its workers.
Located in the municipality of Lucapa, province of Lunda-Norte, in a concession of more than 1,000 square kilometers, Sociedade Mineira de Luachimo has Muapi Diamond SA (75 percent) and ENDIAMA MINING (25 percent) as shareholders.
The alluvial mine, located in the municipality of Lucapa, is bathed to the east by the Luachimo river. The infrastructure has special characteristics due to its location, size and quality of its ores.
It has more than 500 workers (nationals and expatriates, of which 94 percent are nationals). The mine is in the full exploration phase, with an area of 1,284 km2.
It has been explored by MUAPI since June 2016. It explores and sells an average of 15 to 18 carats per month.
