Dinge Sondagem’s New Onshore Oil Drilling Rig Commences Operations in Cabinda

An onshore oil well drilling rig, owned by the Angolan company Dinge Sondagem, has been operating in Cabinda since Friday last week, when it was inaugurated by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, to provide services to operators of the hydrocarbon industry.

Installed in the village of Banza, Regedoria de Cotra, the probe is one of the most modern operating in the Angolan “onshore”, representing an investment of six million dollars, according to a statement, which also indicates that the equipment will be involved in drilling 23 wells over the next four years.

One of the advantages offered by Dinge Sondagens is an efficient handling capacity, said the company’s director, Felício José, revealing that the investment in the equipment aims to solve the difficulties that many operators of onshore oil blocks face in drilling activities, which experiences growing demand.

“Mobilizing a rig for drilling wells has become challenging for local operators, making the availability of the rig a strategic solution”, considered Felício José at the inauguration, adding that the conditions have now been created to significantly shorten the delivery deadlines. drilling, to reduce the transition between supply and production.

The services to be provided to local operators, he said, can be paid in kwanzas, to provide greater financial flexibility to operators.

The Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas stated that “the implementation of an oil drilling rig on land is a good omen”, as it is an Angolan company that had the courage to make this investment at a difficult time for the petroleum industry.

The minister warned national companies that intend to invest in the oil sector “not to think about profit in the medium term, but to be proactive, using technical and technological means that are up to the challenges that arise”.

The deputy governor for the Economic and Productive sector, Romão Lembe, declared that the start of the surveying activity provided by Angolan operators contributes to strengthening the country’s economy, because the project absorbs Angolan labor.
