De Beers has unveiled its 2025 sales calendar, maintaining its standard schedule of 10 sights throughout the year.
The diamond mining giant primarily sells rough diamonds to sightholders under a contractual system that ensures consistent supply in exchange for purchasing commitments.
Recently, De Beers has adapted its approach by allowing sightholders to purchase fewer goods, addressing oversupply concerns and weak market demand.
In December 2024, De Beers concluded its final sight of the year with rough diamond price reductions of 10% to 15%, a decision that sparked dissatisfaction among some market insiders, according to Rapaport News. Additionally, the company scaled back extra supply flexibility as part of its market-balancing efforts.
Notably, the final sight in 2025 will run for four days instead of the traditional five. Below is the confirmed schedule for the upcoming year:
- Sight 1: January 20–24
- Sight 2: February 24–28
- Sight 3: March 31–April 4
- Sight 4: May 5–9
- Sight 5: June 9–13
- Sight 6: July 14–18
- Sight 7: August 25–29
- Sight 8: October 6–10
- Sight 9: November 3–7
- Sight 10: December 8–11
De Beers’ revised schedule reflects its ongoing efforts to adapt to market conditions while continuing to supply its clients consistently.
