Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to N899.50 per litre. This follows a previous price adjustment to N970 per litre on November 24.
Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer for Dangote Group, highlighted that the price cut is aimed at providing relief to Nigerians during the festive season.
He stated, “To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS.
Starting today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM. Additionally, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to purchase another litre on credit, secured by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.”
In addition to the price reduction, the credit offer allows customers to receive extra value during the holiday period.
The Dangote Refinery, with a daily production capacity of 650,000 barrels, is the largest single-train refinery in the world.
It is fully equipped to meet 100% of Nigeria’s refined petroleum product needs, while also having the capacity for exports.
Chiejina further emphasized the refinery’s commitment to providing high-quality, environmentally friendly, and engine-safe products at competitive prices.
He also noted that the refinery marks a significant shift in Nigeria’s fuel supply, ending the country’s reliance on substandard and “blended” imported products that have posed risks to health, machinery, and the environment.
