Country grew 3.6% in the second quarter

Angola’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 3.6% in the second quarter compared to the same period in 2021, and accelerated by 0.5% compared to the growth recorded in the first quarter of this year.

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), the country recorded an accumulated growth of 3.2% in the first half of this year. Compared to the figures for the same period last year, the diamond sector represents the industry with the highest growth, growing by more than 40%: “Gross Added Value of Diamonds grew by 40.3% in the second quarter of 2022 in relation to the year, contributing positively by 0.79 percentage points, in the total variation of GDP”, reads the note released today.
