Choice center generates close to 800 jobs

A total of 785 jobs were generated by Sociedade Mineira de SOMILUANA, located in the municipality of Lucapa, province of Lunda-Norte, with the inauguration, last week, of a new sorting plant, which will increase production levels.

The information was provided by the chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, Reinaldo Trindade, during the inauguration, revealing that 98 percent of the jobs created are occupied by Angolan citizens.

Reinaldo Trindade announced that, with the start of operation of the new sorting center, made up of three lines, the processing capacity will be increased from the current four thousand carats of diamonds per month to 15 thousand.

With the increase in production levels, he continued, quoted by Angop, “the company will be in a position to improve its contribution to the General State Budget, through taxes”.

On the other hand, he reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting the Government’s social actions, especially in the sectors of Health, Education and promotion of family farming.
