The Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (Cabgoc), a subsidiary of the American oil company Chevron, announced on Wednesday the start of the construction of the platform for oil exploration at the N’dola Sul well, in the province of Cuanza Sul.
In a press release, the oil company stated that “to celebrate this important project milestone,” a symbolic “first steel cut” ceremony was carried out at the ALGOA shipyard, located in the Porto Amboim municipality.
“The development of the N’dola Sul field is a project that will be proudly made in Angola, by Angolans and for Angolans. It is an application of a strategy focused on the development of low-cost projects, short cycle, and simplified structures,” emphasizes the note quoted by Lusa (Portuguese News Agency).
The field is located in Block 0, 60 kilometers from the Malongo Terminal in the province of Cabinda. It consists of a wellhead platform with 12 production wells and a tie-back to the existing production and processing platform in Mafumeira, where the fluids will be processed and exported to the oil and gas transportation system of Block 0.
