Energy services firm BW Offshore, along with its exploration partner BW Energy, has successfully transferred operations and maintenance (O&M) responsibilities for the FPSO BW Adolo to BW Energy’s Gabonese subsidiary, BW Energy Gabon SA.
Under the revised agreement, BW Energy will continue to own the FPSO through a bareboat charter arrangement, leasing the unit to BW Energy Gabon under existing terms, excluding O&M services. The vessel is currently producing oil from the offshore Dussafu Marin license.
“Taking full responsibility for O&M will enable BW Energy Gabon to enhance field performance and unlock additional synergies across the Dussafu hub,” said Carl K. Arnet, CEO of BW Energy.
The deal also includes a mutual put-and-call option for the FPSO, valued at $100 million, which can be exercised in 2028.
Both companies will collaborate closely through June 30, 2025, to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted operational transition.
