BW Offshore Secures Short-Term Lease Extension for FPSO Espoir Ivoirien to CNR

BW Offshore, an oil industry company, has secured a short-term lease extension for the FPSO Espoir Ivoirien to CNR (Canadian Natural Resources International).

The extension agreement ensures the continued operation of the FPSO vessel off the coast of Ivory Coast until June 9, 2023. The FPSO Espoir Ivoirien, originally a Suezmax tanker converted in 2001, has a production capacity of 45,000 barrels of crude oil per day and a storage capacity of one million barrels.

It plays a vital role in the oil industry infrastructure of the region with its ten risers and topside facilities for water injection and gas compression. The Espoir field, located in Ivory Coast block CI-26, has significant reserves of oil and natural gas and is operated by CNR, along with other equity partners Petroci Holding and Tullow Côte d’Ivoire.

CNR also operates the Baobab prospect in block CI-40, south of the Espoir field.
