BP Oil International will be Sonangol’s gasoline supplier for the next 12 months of the current year, the same period in which Trafigura will be responsible for supplying diesel to the national oil company, as winners of the public tender held on 6 January to February 14, within the framework of the Logistics Superintendence of the Petroleum Derivatives System, which establishes the award for each of the products.
According to a note sent to Jornal de Angola, 21 companies were invited to the tender, including those that currently supply the two products, in order to guarantee the necessary competitiveness and efficiency in terms of results.
Aramco Trading Company, Mercuria Energy Trading SA, BP Oil International Ltd, BP, Petrochina Company Limited, Chevron Corporation, Petroineos Refining Limited, CNOOC UK Trading, Repsol, ETB (ENI Trading and Biofuels), Royal Dutch Shell, ExxonMobil Corporation , Sinochem, GALP 18 TOTSA (Total Energies), GEMCORP, Trafigura, Glencore, Unipec, Gunvor, Vitol and Litasco.
The note informs that the proposals were received until 17:00 (Angola time) on January 18, 2023 and the opening act was carried out at 9:00 on January 19, 2023, having received eight (8 ) proposals from Aramco Trading Company, Gunvor, BP Oil International Ltd, BP, TOTSA (Total Energies), CNOOC UK Trading, Trafigura, Glencore and Vitol.
It should be noted that, with the results achieved in the public tender held, the supply of said products is assured for the next 12 months, allowing the market to see its needs satisfied without fluctuations.
The contract, if successful, has an option to renew for an additional 6 months.
