The African Refiners and Distributors Association (ARDA) is set to launch a database of sustainable energy projects across the continent on April 24.
The database will serve as part of an actionable downstream plan for the association to bring to COP29 in Azerbaijan this year.
Dedicated to the development of sustainable pan-African energy infrastructure projects, ARDA aims to address the economic, environmental and social challenges related to energy security on the continent.
“Our association’s goal is to implement an actionable roadmap that will transition Africa’s current energy mix towards a more sustainable carbon footprint in the future,” stated ARDA President Mustapha Abdul-Hamid.
The announcement was made during a forum in Cape Town, South Africa on April 22 that served to consolidate regional and international energy investors with a view to driving sustainable energy projects across Africa.
“We are confident that all African and international stakeholders will effectively deliberate on key issues impacting our sector and implementing an achievable roadmap that moves Africa’s energy mix towards a more sustainable and lower carbon footprint over the coming decades,” concluded Dr. Abdul-Hamid.
