The National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) and the José Eduardo dos Santos University signed, last week a Memorandum of technical and scientific cooperation to support companies in the oil sector.
The signing of the Memorandum took place during the workshop that dealt with the strategy for launching the biofuels sector, within the scope of implementing the obligations of the recently approved Kyoto Protocol.
The head of ANPG’s Energy Integration and Biofuels Department, Vita Mateso, explained that the intention is to provide solutions, given that Angola has great potential in renewable energy.
“The main objective is to bring academia into the instruction and make their contribution as industry professionals with demonstrations of what is done in other countries with the scientific initiative”, he said.
ANPG intends to promote some projects within the scope of local content with its partners.
“The country wants national strategies that contribute to the diversification of a solid and inclusive economy, with a positive impact on environmental sustainability and bringing academia to help face new challenges is one of ANPG’s objectives”, he pointed out.
