In March, the National Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) reported a total of 10 drilling units active in Angola’s oil sector, with significant progress across various operations.
The standout performers among the active units were six drill ships: Sonandril West Gemini, Sonangol Libongos, Valaris DS-09, Sonangol Quenguela, Transocean Skyros, and Sapem 12000.
Additionally, a Jack Up Shelf Drilling Tenaciou, a Tender SKD Jaya, a Tension Leg Platform TLP-A, and a FALCON HP-1000 land probe were also operational during this period.
ANPG’s monthly report highlighted the completion of work on 21 wells, including interventions, drilling/completion operations, and research activities, totaling 13,225 meters of drilling.
Notably, three interventions were successfully concluded in producing wells, marking significant progress in operational efficiency.
Angola’s oil withdrawals for the month reached 35,991,419 barrels, averaging 1,161,014 barrels of oil per day (BOPD), surpassing the predicted 1,117,548 BOPD.
ANPG led the withdrawals with 8,413,767 barrels (23% of the total), followed by SNL P&P with 4,732,377 barrels (13%) and SNL EP with 1,872,102 barrels (5%).
The active drilling operations and increased production underscore Angola’s continued commitment to advancing its oil sector and maximizing output in line with projected targets.
