Angola’s Oil sector offers 200 jobs

A total of 200 young people managed, last weekend, in Luanda, their first job, in the oil and banking sectors, at the Recruitment Fair, organized by Elite Recrutment Angola, which had the participation of 22 companies and more than 40 thousand applicants.

The director general of Elite Recrutment Angola, Miguel Vieira, said in an interview with Jornal de Angola that the company he runs promoted the Recruitment Fair with the aim of contributing to the fight against the high unemployment rates that are seen in the country.

“We were paralyzed for eight years. The reason was due to the financial crisis that hit the country, which led companies to decline recruitment, opting for dismissal.

The return to the recruitment fair has to do with the need of the job market work in the oil sector presents”, he said.

The director general of Elite Recrutment Angola said that the fair was focused on the oil sector as it is the branch that contributes to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“The oil sector is the engine of industry in Angola and the most that contributes to the growth of economic diversification. Along with the oil sector, the Fair also featured the sectors of banking, telecommunications and aviation.”, He said.

The manager acknowledged the economic diversification program being implemented by the Angolan Government.

He added that for the program to be successful, it is necessary to bet on the industry, as it is the largest representation within the country’s economy.

“We need to increase human resources in oil companies with engineers trained in the areas of telecommunications, civil construction and architecture. For example, Internacional SOS needs nurses and doctors to work on oil platforms”, he said.

“There are several sectors with a shortage of staff, such as in the areas of finance, risk, auditing, new technologies, administrative and others.

We are not looking for experienced people, we need new graduates and others for basic services that do not require many requirements, such as training In the three days of the fair, we noticed that there is a lot of potential, we are going to refine them to transform them into excellent professionals”, he highlighted.
