Angolan Oil Sector Addresses Impact of the New General Labor Law

The Association of Companies Providing Services in the Angolan Oil Industry (AECIPA) is holding a workshop today at the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Technologies and Sciences (ISPTEC) in Luanda. The workshop aims to analyze the changes in the New General Labour Law (NLGT) in the petroleum sector.

According to the statement, the event, titled “New General Labour Law, What Has Changed,” will address some of the key issues of major relevance in the amendments to be introduced in the NLGT, which will come into effect next March. The note mentions that this initiative is part of AECIPA’s first activity in the 2024 Work Program, focusing on promoting and discussing topics impacting the activities of its members.

The speakers at the event will be lawyers Rui Andrade, Silvino Domingos, and Eliéser Corte Real, with the target audience being Human Resources managers in the Angolan petroleum industry’s service sector.

AECIPA was founded with the objective of fostering dialogue and cooperation among companies providing services to the Angolan oil sector, closely aligning with official institutions and national market operators to address common challenges and issues of interest.

The Association is governed by a Board of Directors, with engineer Bráulio de Brito serving as president, assisted by vice-presidents Filipa Andrade, Luís Lago de Carvalho, Manuel Graças de Deus, Jorge Correia, and Luís Meireles.

The Association plays a dynamic role in the sector as an intermediary.
